Industrial-Strength Results from "Boutique" Recruiting Firm

March, 1998
by Joyce Herring

Weeks Corporation, a high-growth real estate investment organization specializing in industrial development, is entering new Florida markets in a big way! It recently acquired properties in Miami, Tampa and Jacksonville while also expanding its Orlando presence. In Miami, the company purchased a nearly 2.5 million square foot, high-quality industrial and office project. The Tampa expansion includes plans for a large, class A suburban office park.

When Weeks needed a new Vice President of Investor Relations, it took the same aggressive stance and requested a "class A" candidate who could be on board quickly and who resided in the Southeast.
Although their first inclination was to engage a nationally-known recruiting firm, the company decided to try a smaller, "boutique" that might be more responsive.

The hunch paid off! The Dalley Hewitt Company quickly captured the executive profile and corporate culture. Within a short period, it provided a pool of quality finalist candidates who met the criteria. A hiring decision was made and the candidate was in place well within the client's desired timeframe of two months.

According to Cindy Wright, a former Weeks vice president, "We chose The Dalley Hewitt Company because it has a reputation for in-depth, quality work with quick turnaround. We received excellent value for our dollars spent and are extremely happy with the candidate we hired."

This led to an additional, successful senior level search assignment for The Dalley Hewitt Company. According to company president, Rives D. Hewitt, "Now that we understand the corporate culture and what makes a successful search at Weeks, we can proceed quickly with future search assignments."
